Copy your code from Your Embed Code in the Clvrly portal, then follow these steps. It takes about five minutes.
- In your Shopify admin go to Online Store → Themes.
- On your current theme, click the … button and choose Edit code.
- In the Layout folder, open
theme.liquid. - Find the closing
</head>tag and paste your Clvrly code on the line just above it. - Click Save, then open your live store to see the assistant.
Check your live store address, not the theme preview. Shopify's preview doesn't always load outside scripts.

Which Shopify plans does Clvrly work with?
All of them. Any plan that lets you edit your theme code can run Clvrly.
Will the assistant still be there if I change theme?
Theme code belongs to each theme, so when you switch to a new theme, paste your Clvrly code into its theme.liquid too. Theme updates that keep your edits are fine.
Does it appear on the checkout page?
No. Shopify keeps checkout locked down, so the assistant shows on your storefront pages (home, collections, products, pages and blog) but not inside checkout.
My store has a .myshopify.com address and a custom domain. Which do I add?
Add the domain your customers actually visit, usually your custom domain. If people reach the store on both, add both in your Clvrly portal.
Do I need to know any code?
No. You copy one line from your Clvrly portal and paste it into one box in Shopify. You don't need to understand or change it.
Where do I find my Clvrly code?
Sign in to your Clvrly portal and open Your Embed Code. Copy the whole line exactly as shown.
Will it slow down my store?
No. The script loads with defer, so it never holds up your page, and the assistant appears once the page is ready.
How do I change how the assistant looks?
Colours, position, welcome message and mobile visibility are all set in your Clvrly portal. Changes appear on your store automatically, without touching Shopify again.
The assistant isn't showing. What should I check?
Make sure the domain you're viewing is added in your Clvrly portal, that you saved (and published, if needed) in Shopify, and that you're looking at the live store rather than a preview. Still stuck? Email [email protected].
